Plastic bottles are a definite no. We’re getting better at arming ourselves with our refillable bottles. But occasionally there’s a need for single-use containers. So what’s the sustainable bottled water alternative?
Why use single-use water containers?
Bottled water is a convenient commodity. And one that customers can trust. People are willing to pay the price for bottled water in return for safe, easy access to water. Occasionally in the event industry a client will request water when it’s not easy or appropriate to supply glasses and jugs of water.
So what do you do when your client requests water at an event? What are the sustainable alternatives?
When single-use water is a must, what bottled water alternative do you use?
We all know how important it is to avoid single-use plastics. When plastic bottles are a no-no, our sustainable recommendation we love is CanO Water.
Made from aluminium, CanO Water make their 70% recycled content. What’s more, aluminium cans can be continually in the recycling process. The process of recycling and making them into a new can takes as little as sixty days.
Meanwhile, only about 3% of recycled content is in plastic bottles. Here’s a shocking statistic from CanO Water – only 7% of plastic was recycled in 2019.
Recycling cans uses 95% less energy to manufacture than it does to create a new one. So every aluminium can we are producing by recycling is decreasing the carbon footprint of the next.
A more sustainable version of single-use water containers, CanO Water is certainly a great bottled water alternative. Therefore it makes it onto our list of sustainable event essentials.
