Staff away days for management teams of charities are rare. There’s no doubting the value of getting together. However, it can be a challenge to explain this spend to donors. So, as a thank you for all their hard work, we treated the management team from Shakespeare Hospice to a day away.
In the beautiful setting of Compton Verney, Rob from the Wax Studio taught the group how to make candles. Who knew the process was so scientific? Working with all-natural ingredients, the teams got to create their own scents. They learned how to dip candles. But repurposing unwanted items from the Hospice Shops into funky candles was the real crowd pleaser!
It was perfect timing, just before Christmas. So basically, the unwanted items they couldn’t sell were now desirable gifts. We often talk at Warwick Events about how events can generate WIN-WIN moments. And this is a perfect example.
